Teacher Recruitment and Internship Coordinator

30-35 hours per week, Gloucester, Beverly, and Salem MA


The Teacher Recruitment and Internship Coordinator oversees all day to day aspects of the student internship program at Pathways for Children and Early Head Start and Head Start teacher recruitment.  This position is designed to support students enrolled in early childhood education courses in obtaining placements to fulfill their student teaching requirements, and act as liaison between Pathways for Children and external teaching candidates for open teaching positions.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Take a leadership role in the relationship between Pathways for Children and local colleges or high schools that have Early Childhood Education programs; this includes regular contact via phone, email and in-person meetings
  • Screen all resumes pertaining to open teacher positions in EHS/HS, forwarding those suitable to hiring managers
  • Attend and participate in local community job fairs to attract qualified teaching candidates
  • Engage Early Education programs to inform and educate these partners on the student internship opportunities on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with colleges and high schools to source candidates for internship and open positions on an ongoing basis; this may entail travel throughout the community
  • Provide colleges with notification of job opening(s) and job description(s)
  • Complete intakes for student interns and ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted and approved
  • Support process of background checks, fingerprints and other necessary clearances related to the Early Education field upon hiring an intern
  • Collect and maintain internship participation data and provide reports for stakeholders as required
  • Manage various aspects of the budget associated with this program on an ongoing basis
  • Onboard and place interns into classrooms in collaboration with Program Administrators, Education Supervisors, and Education/Professional Development Manager post hire
  • Assist interns with job-related tasks, technical issues, internal processes and procedures as needed
  • Meets regularly with Pathways’ Education and Professional Development Manager for supervision and support
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Education and /or Experience


Minimum of a Associate’s degree in ECE or equivalent.  A background in Early Education, or Career Counseling is preferred.  Must have exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and a proven track record of working independently

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of an employment physical (within one year of hire date)
  • Pass CORI, SORI, DCF, and fingerprint clearance
  • Possess valid MA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance and acceptable driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel between Gloucester, Beverly, and Salem
