Collaborating is key for a brighter future

As writer Ryunosuke Satoro shared, "Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean."

At Pathways for Children, we know all about the power of collaboration in creating stronger, healthier communities.  Though the last year has been challenging, it also brought opportunities for organizations to work together for the greater good.

Meet our Partners

We’ve had the opportunity to partner with the following organizations to provide additional support and opportunities for our children and families. With our partners, we are learning about resilience, we have to access to new facilities for our kid’s programs, our families have access to age-appropriate books at home, and so much more. Find out how these wonderful organizations have partnered with us.

Suffolk University

Today we are working alongside Suffolk University to explore the resiliency of children, families, and teachers during the COVID pandemic. The results of this research study will be presented next summer at the Head Start National Research Conference in D. C.

YMCA of Cape Ann

When the weather heats up, our School Age Care students will stay cool through our new partnership with the Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA. Throughout the summer, our students are spending two days/week in the pool, splash pad, gymnasium, and recreational room at the brand-new Y.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Last year, we launched a partnership with the Imagination Library to collaborate on building home libraries and a love of reading for children under the age of 5. With more than 700 children registered, the partnership is the largest of its kind in Massachusetts–and growing.

ChopChop

We are partnering with child nutrition magazine ChopChop to explore their new project “Eatable Alphabet Cards” with our youngest students. The flip-through teaching deck is designed to promote early nutrition awareness, provide a stimulating sensory experience, and support early literacy across various subjects, including food, language, math, and numbers.

Action, Inc and WellSpring House

This year’s Cape Ann Kids Holiday Fund was a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Gloucester-based nonprofits Action, Inc. and WellSpring House. The joint Holiday Fund raised more than $110,000 to generate holiday cheer and gift cards for more than 1,050 children and 500 families.

Boston Children’s Hospital

Through the generosity of our Holiday Fund collaboration, Pathways was able to offer bicycles, tricycles, and scooters to all of our currently enrolled children this month. We partnered with Boston Children’s Hospital ThinkFirst Program, who provided our children with a bike safety course and donated helmets.

City of Gloucester Health Department, Regional Youth Prevention Network, & many local organizations that serve youth

Working hand-in-hand with youth-focused organizations, we launched a much-needed online Youth at Risk Resource Guide with a comprehensive listing of more than 200 services offered for youth in Essex County and Merrimack Valley.

We look forward to many more healthy partnerships in Pathways’ future.
